Farmer’s Cheese (aka tvorog) vareniki are a type of traditional dumpling from Ukraine that we make by hand at our SE Portland restaurant. The hexagonal shape is uncommon among vareniki purists but we don’t mind going against the grain when in pursuit of dough-wrapped perfection.
FYI these are not your babushka’s sweet vareniki. We make ours with a savory bent by throwing in chives and parmesan which is just how we roll.
